Healthcare:
Majority of Americans’ are dissatisfied with the current health care system which is extremely expensive and highly inefficient. Due to the upcoming presidential election, the two major political parties, and their candidates, have been focusing on the primary problems that the nation will face. Among those problems is the future of Medicare, the national health-insurance plan. Medicare was enacted in 1965, under the administration of Lyndon B. Johnson, in order to provide health insurance for retired citizens and the disabled. The Medicare program covers most people aged 65 or older, as well as handicapped people who enroll in the program, and consists of two health plans: a hospital insurance plan (part A) and a medical insurance plan (part B). A well-organized, efficient health care system is not that easy to provide and one of the key problems is hospitals and medical proper funding. Nowadays, there are three basic types of funding: private, insurance, and state. Nevertheless, many people believe that the government must bear full responsibility for providing the money our health care service needs. However, I do not completely agree with the idea. The government will not be able to provide enough funding to guarantee the use of the most innovative methods of treatment. Moreover, government has several branches of the social sector, such as education and culture, which also do not produce much of income, but need funding. As a result, increase of taxes, which means that the main financial burden is on an average citizen again. An ideal variant will be a combination of all the existing sources of finance. Some rich people may prefer to pay for the best medical treatment, while the government must necessarily subsidize the health care for children, senior citizens, and the unemployed, as these social groups cannot provide for themselves (that's where Medicaid kicks in) thus, are extremely financially vulnerable. However, working adults can afford medical insurance, and reduce the general taxation burden.

Wealth:
When one ask themselves "what is wealth?", people immediately think of money. They think of expensive cars and mansion. Wealth is not the ability to take everything for granted. Wealth is not greed and malice towards others. I do agree with the middle-class has been disappearing because most of the middle class people are hardworking individuals and goal achievers, therefore they haven’t fallen into the lower class, they’ve risen into the upper class.
Education:
The biggest debate was should education be free? The answer is NO! The government will not be able to provide enough money to fund "free" education without raising taxes. Think long term, even though you have to pay for tuition or student loans right now, it only takes a few years to pay them off. However, if the government increased taxes, it'd be a lifetime "penalty" for everyone including your kid(s). Have you heard of the government lowering taxes? Think about it.
The Morals and Ethics in our society today:
Ethics and morality form a central position in the functioning of the government. Under normal circumstances, it is the role of the government to ensure a just society where order and harmony exist. As a result, the government has to establish and enforce ethical and moral standards so as to ensure that the society functions well. Decision making is the government’s chief role. Therefore, it must make ethical and moral considerations in order to make decisions that are in line with the welfare of the society.

Project blog
This project consisted of the history of Health Care, what Health Care is suppose to do, the politics behind it, the different types of Health Care such as Medicare and Medicaid as well as Obama Care, and lastly how Health Care is compared to the rest of the world. Health Care by definition is the organized provision of medical care to individuals or a community, so when we started our project we wanted to start the the project with that concept in mind for when we focused on the political side of things. The political part of the project was mainly about the 2020 election candidates and their plans for Health Care for example Bernie Sanders's plan was to give free Health Care to everyone which ironically almost every candidates plan. When it came to the election however we had to find a way to fit it into the finished product do to the fact that we had to reference the election in someway so we thought why not put alongside with their plans for health care we did this by adding short videos about the candidates that we used and their Health Care plans. Later on into the project we were looking into the other kinds of medical care (Medicare and Medicaid) and what the stood for as well as their history. Once again we made sure to use reliable sources in our research so not to get the wrong information. Once we were done with that we moved on to how Health care compared to the rest of the world and come to our surprise we found out that the United States were one of the lowest but THE most expensive in the world overall which in these times says a lot. After all set and done we moved on to the history of Health Care do to it being the most easy thing to do. Now that the project was done it was time to presentation. I feel like the presentation was a successes we maid the time frame that was established, everyone looked professional and we got our points a gross very well and in good time so everyone can present on the same day. The next day of our presentation was also a success we had a little review of the previous day then had a kahoot on what we reviewed with rewards to those who won it was a good time for everyone. The other projects consisted of wealth, education, and morals and ethics. The project on wealth was very good and informative I learned a lot and it also confirmed many of the questions that I had for a long time. I think that the presentation it self was well put together and done in well time and everyone looked very professional as well as well spoken. The other presentation which was on education was also very well presented as well as well spoken. They really knew how to put a presentation together, the power point was really nice looking. Their presentation really taught me allot about the debt rates in colleges. Lastly the presentation on morals and ethics was the best one in my opinion do to the fact that I knew nothing about said topic and their presentation as well as research was really well put together. Overall every project were very well put together and well presented.
Health Care
These chapter and theme presentations were a great way to combine chapters from the class book but also talk about the very important topics being discussed in the elections. My group presented specifically on the healthcare system. We not only informed the class about the different types of health care plans, but also on what the politicians in this upcoming elections are planning to do in terms of the health of Americans.

My topic in the presentation was Obama Care. Obama Care is also known as The Affordable Care Act and is still the law of the land. President Obama's primary goal with this act was to lower the cost of health care by making insurance more affordable by subsidizing the cost of production. Candidate Joe Biden wants to build on the foundation of Obama Care, and make sure every American gets access to affordable and quality insurance and medical care.
I believe my group did a pretty good job at presenting. There were a few bumps in the road but in the end we all worked together to put together an informative presentation. On the first day we each presented our topics and the second day decided to engage with the audience by creating a kahoot with questions based off of our information. The other students seemed to definitely enjoy that we brought donuts and chips as rewards for participation and winning the kahoot.
The other groups did great as well. The first group that presented was education. The leader of that group did an execellent job at engaging with the audience. She asked us many questions regarding our educational system. Everyone seemed to be pretty organized and well prepared.
The morals and ethics group was another group that did great. They had some pretty funny and random videos to show which was pretty interesting. One of the members of that group seemed to be very informed in philosophy. The way he explained certain topics was very interesting. Seeing life and situation in a philosophical way is not something I usually do so hearing his way of seeing and explaining things was pretty intriguing.
I believe I walked in slightly late when the wealth group was presenting (sorry professor), but from what I did get to see, they were well organized and provided plenty of statistics involving wealth in todays society. For example I believe they brought up a case in which a company got sued for creating a product that caused an individual a form of cancer. The company denied that their products caused cancer, but they lost the case and the individual who sued them was rewarded with billions of dollars.
Overall I think each group did a great job in their presentations and handled the questions from the audience very well. For the most part we all delivered an educative and entertaining speech.
Voting is a great way to voice our political opinions in choosing who we think the best candidate would be for our country. These projects helped with educating us on important topics and how they relate to the debates in the elections this year.

Presentation critique
The first group did well I didn’t
see any problem with the information and mostly found their topic very interesting,
they were well coordinated and had experience practicing what they were
planning to say mostly. They didn’t drag the presentation long or keep it
incredibly short, so to me they did fairly well.
The second group after that
one I really had fun getting educated on. The group had interesting facts and
as well as rewards for active listeners and for those who gave attention. This was
the best way to get people to understand and as well as try to aim for
something by trying to be on top for that specific reward. The group talked
about the pros and the cons of paying for college and I would remember the
topic since they did the best they could in a sense of what they were trying to
convey in the message.
The group after that didn’t
really hit me up on interest but did educate me on the world in general. I found
what videos of animals and people they had quite intriguing and very informational
but it caught me off guard, but all the same the presentation was great and the
students performed greatly on talking about the topics.
Our group was next and we
did well to catch the attention with sweets and a fun activity at the end with
kahoot as well. I believe we did well to present our part since health is a big
deal and an important one at that. We weren’t all on time but I could say that
we all did what we needed to, to present what we had done over the weeks. Some of
us has read a little off the board or off a book or something, but I believe
everyone did their best in my group.
The last and final
group I’m sorry to say but in my opinion I didn’t know what was going on nor do
I remember the topic. Not because I wasn’t paying attention, but because it wasn’t
interesting. Nor did it give me any information on the topic much. I felt as if
the group tried to rush more to the kahoot then to explain a lot of the topic
they had researched about in the presentation I didn’t feel any connection towards
the people making the presentation and I don’t know it just didn’t catch my
interest. People around the room were the same. Some people were jamming to
music, some were watching a movie on a laptop, some were watching youtube and
to me I just found the presentation as one I cant remember. The only thing that
I remember from it was just the kahoot and nothing else about the subject. But all
the same they tried and they presented what they needed to and theres nothing wrong
with that, but still I would say they need improvement on the grabbing the
crowd.
Thoughts on the class and presentations
Ulissa Martinez
I believed everyone did amazing in their presentations. In these troubled times, I'd like to put a smile on your faces and expose my thoughts as my classmates presented.
I believed everyone did amazing in their presentations. In these troubled times, I'd like to put a smile on your faces and expose my thoughts as my classmates presented.
The first group represented Education.
Bernie Sanders wants to have free healthcare for all and free education!!
I don't necessarily agree with this due to the fact. The United States will be a very poor country. Besides we already have free education. We have it through scholarships!! With hard work and the right guidance, everyone can have free education.
Though I loved how interactive they tried to be by asking questions to the crowd. Even though not many people participated.
The class when someone asks questions
Then Morals and Ethics presented next!
I really enjoyed how Physiological their presentation was at one point. Though at the beginning, I didn't like how the let a video explain what Morals and Ethics were.
(Being a night owl I am. I barely sleep soo a montone computer voice had me like this)
However, I was not rude and pulled through to stay awake for them.
Then a video was shown on with a monkey using a rock to slam it against something.
My groupmates couldn't stop laughing at the music which made me giggle and fell horrible since it was a bit rude.
THEN IT WAS MY GROUP'S TURN!
In the first day, I thought everything was going well however, the Gods above said NOPE, not today!
I realized out plan was ruined when we all had to present in one day!
My group and I rushed to the library to and snatched a study room to discuss what we needed to do on the next day we presented.
That's when we came up with Kahoot!! I loved working with my group and having a fun time while working on this project!! I would gladly do it again if it was the same people.

- Main purpose is to amend, repeal and replace the Affordable Healthcare Act to everyone. It will cater to everyone's needs regardless of gender, age, and class

- The Bill allows insurers (insurance companies like Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Cigna) to charge older people five times more than what is provided in the Obamacare Bill.
- Donald Trump Wishes to introduce a Black-grant system that strips millions of coverage from Americans, especially in blue states.
- Bill provides tax cut to wealthy people and assist them with huge tax cuts from massive wealth and scraps removes the investment tax on those earning exceeds $250,000.
- More charges on sick Americans with pre-existing conditions (such as diabetes). The public as the option with wanting Obamacare benefits or allow insurers to charge patients to access the coverage.
- The Plan suggests an additional $8 billion for five years to cover premium spikes through analysts protest the move by criticizing its inadequeacy.
